"Machine binding verification failure" error message is displayed
Symptom
A Machine Binding verification failure error message is displayed at startup and the user cannot boot into Windows.
If the Machine Binding feature of SafeGuard Easy is not disabled before uninstalling the Client Security Solution application, subsequent boots of the computer might fail. When this occurs, a machine binding verification failure error message is displayed.
The Machine Binding feature of SafeGuard Easy utilizes the embedded security chip, which is managed by the Client Security Solution application. Consequently, the Machine Binding feature of SafeGuard Easy should be disabled before uninstalling the Client Security Solution application.
To disable the Machine Binding feature
Click Start, select Control Panel, then click Add or Remove Programs.
Highlight the Sophos SafeGuard Easy entry.
Click the Change/Remove button.
Select the Modify radio button.
