Symptom

Realtek audio driver for Windows XP v5.10.0.5307 has a bug that utilizes too much CPU resource and adversely affects system performance. The bug can cause the mouse to hesitate or freeze.

Affected systems

The following systems running Microsoft Windows XP may experience this symptom:

3000 C200
Lenovo N100 (models 0689-Exx, Fxx, Gxx and 0768-Exx, Fxx, Gxx)

Solution

Update the Realtek audio driver to version 5.10.0.5366 or newer, which does not have this problem.
