System does not hibernate after the specified time on battery in Windows 7

 

Affected configurations

Any of the following ThinkPad systems:

  • ThinkPad L410, L510, L412 and L512
  • ThinkPad R60, R60e, R60i, R61, R61e, R61i, R400 and R500
  • ThinkPad SL300, SL400, SL400c, SL500 SL500c, SL410 and SL510
  • ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p, T400, T400s, T500, T410, T410i, T410s, T410si, T510 and T510i
  • ThinkPad W500, W700, W700ds, W510, W701 and W701ds
  • ThinkPad X60, X60s, X60 Tablet, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet, X200, X200s, X200 Tablet, X300, X301 X201, X201i, X201s, X201si and X201 Tablet
  • ThinkPad Reserve Edition

 

Solution

Enable the following two options.

  1. "Allow wake timers" on battery in Power Options or Power Manager
  2. "Timer Wake with Battery Operation" in BIOS Setup Utility (i.e. [Config] -> [Power])
