Using a bar code reader, the user is unable to scan the serial number bar code on the base cover of a ThinkPad X100e.

The serial number bar code label on the X100e uses a different format from other ThinkPads.

In order to successfully scan this bar code label, you must use a bar code reader with the ability to scan using the following parameters:

• Enable CODE 128
• Video Reverse

If your bar code reader does not have the ability to scan in 'Video Reverse' mode, you will not be able to scan the serial number bar code label on the ThinkPad X100e.
