How to setup four external monitors when using ATI X1300 display adapter and ThinkPad Advanced Dock
The detailed procedure to achieve external four monitor display with Advanced Dock:
Attach 4 external monitors to Advanced Dock graphics and X1300 graphics, power on system and log into Microsoft Windows XP. (The monitor attached on Dock VGA port will not display by default.)
Right-click on the desktop, click Properties to open the "Display property" window, click the Settings tab, right-click each monitor icon (1,2,3,4), check Attached to activate all of the monitors. If ThinkPad LCD is the primary display monitor, switch it to the other one attached on Dock graphics. Click OK. (The monitor attached on Dock VGA port will not display by default.)
Click Start, select All Programs, select Catalyst Control Center, click Catalyst Control Center, click Displays Manager. Select the ThinkPad default LCD, right-click ThinkPad LCD icon, then click Disable.
Right-click the greyed external monitor icon, click Extend Main onto digital panel or Clone Main with digital panel to enable the monitor by cloning or extending the existing display.
