Symptom
After the user installs Windows XP Service Pack 2 over Service Pack 1 with Microsoft QFE Q323181(Microsoft QFE Driver), if the user tries to change the Bluetooth Driver through the Hardware Update Wizard, two Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers(QFE or SP2) are displayed in the Hardware Update Wizard window.

Affected configuration
The following systems with the Integrated Bluetooth II or Bluetooth III driver installed:

• ThinkPad R40
• ThinkPad R50, R50p
• ThinkPad R51
• ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p
• ThinkPad X31
• ThinkPad X40
  

Solution
Select " Integrated Bluetooth III (Microsoft)" or the latest version of " Integrated Bluetooth II Version: 5.1.2600.2180[8/3/2004]", if the release dates are indicated.

Additional information
The Bluetooth driver provided in Microsoft QFE Q323183 (Bluetooth Wireless Technology Driver) is not automatically replaced by the Bluetooth driver in Windows XP Service Pack 2 during the Windows XP Service Pack 2 installation.
