Access Connections Administration tools and deployment guide

The Access Connections Administrator Profile Deployment Feature is intended for administrators.

It provides ability to customize Access Connection, manage and deploy location profiles to Access Connections clients. It also supports Active Directory deployment.

To learn more about this feature, download the deployment guide.

To use this feature for administrator's use, download the administrator feature tool to enable this function on Access Connections. This would allow administrator to create and distribute encrypted location profiles to client systems and manage Access Connections clients more effectively.

 

Installation instructions for Administrator Feature
  1. Start Windows 2000 or Windows XP or Windows Vista and log on with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the package you downloaded to extract the tool. (By default it extracts to C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\ConnectUtilities)
  3. Click Start then click Run.
  4. Type C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\ConnectUtilities\AdmEnblr.exe and click OK to run the enabler tool.
    Note: If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
  5. Click Enable Administrator Feature and then click Exit to enable the feature.
  6. Launch Access Connections. You will notice "Profile Distribution" menu item is added.  
Installation instructions for Client Policy Plug-in

(Read the Deployment guide before you download and install)

  1. Start Windows XP or Windows Vista and log on with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the package you downloaded to extract the tool. (By default it extracts to C:\Drivers\W2K\ACPLGIN)
  3. Click Start then click Run.
  4. Type C:\Drivers\W2K\ACPLGIN\Acadplgsetup.exe and click OK to install Client Policy plug-in to support policy deployment using the Active directory.
    Note: If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
  5. Restart the system.
