This package provides the display driver for Windows Me/2000/XP users.
The display driver enables or updates the display function of the following ThinkPad computer:

- ThinkPad s31

This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes
For Windows Me
Version 4.13.01.0080
- (New) Initial release.

For Windows 2000

Version 6.13.10.0205
- (Fix) The LCD screen is dark in Dual View mode.
- (Fix) The system displays an error message while running Winbench99.
- (Fix) With the external display attached, the screen flickers twice when display output is changed by pressing Fn + F7 key.
- (Fix) (Japanese environment only) If a Command Prompt is opened and Alt + Enter key is pressed several times to change the Command Prompt screen between full and windowed when Microsoft Windows Media Player plays back a MPEG file, the Media Player's screen becomes black.
- (Fix) (Japanese environment only) When the external display is set up without setup data, its screen becomes blank when the LCD panel is closed.

II. Installation instructions

  1. Start Microsoft Windows Me, or Microsoft Windows 2000/XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WXP\DISPLAY\SETUP in the Open box and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

III. Uninstallation instructions

  1. Start Windows Me, or start Windows 2000/XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Right-click Lynx3DM Control Programs in the Tray.
  3. Click Exit.
  4. For Windows Me/2000 users, click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
    For windows XP users, click Start, click Control Panel, then click Add or Remove Programs. If you use Control Panel by Classic View, then Click Start, then click Control Panel. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
  5. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
  6. Select Silicon Motion Control Programs from the list, then click the Change/Remove button.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.

IV. Determining which version is installed
For Windows Me users

  1. Start Windows Me.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the System icon.
  4. Double-click the Display adapters section.
  5. Double-click Silicon Motion Lynx3DM.
  6. Click the Driver tab.
  7. The version is displayed.

For Windows 2000 users

  1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the System icon.
  4. Click the Hardware tab, and click the Device Manager button.
  5. Double-click the Display adapters section.
  6. Double-click Silicon Motion Lynx3DM.
  7. Click the Driver tab.
  8. The version is displayed.

For Windows XP users

  1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Click Start, select Control Panel, then click Performance and Maintenance. If you use Control Panel by Classic View, click Start, then click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon.
  3. Click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button.
  4. Double-click the Display adapters section.
  5. Double-click Silicon Motion Lynx3DM.
  6. Click the Driver tab.
  7. The version is displayed.
