USB 3.0 port does not function without the USB 3.0 driver - ThinkCentre M78
Symptom

The USB 3.0 port does not function if the USB 3.0 driver is uninstalled.  This issue also occurs with the Microsoft Window PE operating system or in the System Recovery Environment.  If the USB 3.0 driver is uninstalled, all USB 3.0 ports will not function.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre M78

Limitation

None.

Workaround

When this issue occurs with the Microsoft Window PE operating system or in the System Recovery Environment, the user should use a USB 2.0 port.
