IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore - Restore fails before completion
Symptom IBM Rapid Restore Ultra fails to restore your computer.
Affected configurations IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP, configured with IBM Rapid Restore Ultra
Solution IBM Rapid Restore Ultra may fail to restore your computer for one of the following reasons:
You have replaced your hard disk drive with a smaller hard disk drive and all the data can not be restored. If you encounter this problem, you should either obtain a larger hard disk drive or use the Rescue Files and Folders to restore selected data from the backup.
If restoring from CD/DVD, the media may be damaged. If this is the case, you'll need to use a different backup (if available) to restore your computer, or recover the system from the factory image.
The IBM Rescue and Recovery environment may hang if you exceed the available memory capacity. If this happens, reboot, do not open other applications, and restart the restore process.
