Western Digital My Passport 750G USB 3.0 hard disk drive slow transfer speed with Lenovo USB 3.0 PCI-E Card - ThinkCentre
Symptom

The data transfer speed of the Western Digital (WD) My Passport 750G USB 3.0 hard disk drive (HDD) may be lower than other USB 3.0 (super speed) drives.  This issue only appears when using the My Passport 750G USB 3.0 hard disk drive.  Other My Passport Series (500G, 1TB, and others) do not have this issue.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre

Applies To:

  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Microsoft Windows 8
  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Windows PE
  • Microsoft Windows Server

The system is configured with:

  • WD My Passport 750G USB 3.0 HDD and Lenovo PCI-E USB 3.0 Card
  • Lenovo USB 3.0 PCI-E Card includes (P/N 0C19465, FRU: 03T7099, and P/N 0B46644, FRU: 03T7100)
