System shows error "Windows Resume Loader" when resuming from S4 (hibernate) power state - ThinkCentre M82, M92, M92p, Edge 92 / ThinkStation E31
Symptom

Certain configurations with BIOS (version 9SKT31A), when resuming from the S4 (hibernate) power state, the system will display an error message, "Windows Resume Loader", and ask the user to select "Continue with system resume" or "Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu".

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre M82, M92, M92p, Edge 92
  • ThinkStation E31

Applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Solution

The user should update the BIOS to version 9SKT33A.

Workaround

The user can select "Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu" to delete the restoration data when the error message is shown.
