The Restore default settings button is unavailable and the Energy Star power scheme settings cannot be modified in ThinkPad Power Manager
Symptom

After updating Power Manager to version 1.99g or later, and then launch Power Manager, the Restore default settings button is unavailable and the settings of the predefined Energy Star power scheme cannot be modified.

This is because the registry modules that define whether the Energy Star power scheme settings can be modified do not exist in the recovered operating system.

Affected configurations

ThinkPad systems with Windows XP.

Solution

To solve the problem, download tpm_default.reg file, rename it to default.reg and double click on it.
