Wireless keyboard fails to bind to the transceiver during setup - ThinkCentre
Symptom

The Enhanced Performance Wireless Keyboard may fail to bind to the transceiver during initial setup if the user presses the bind button on the bottom of the keyboard for more than 1 second.

Affected configurations

All ThinkCentre systems running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 Professional configured with the Enhanced Performance Wireless keyboard and Optical Mouse, with option part number 73P4067 or replacement part number (FRU) 89P8730.

Solution

Remove the keyboard batteries for 15 to 20 seconds. Reinstall the batteries, and reattempt the bind procedure.
