McAfee Safeboot disk encryption GINA conflict with Access Connections - ThinkPad
Symptom

When using the Allow wireless connection at Windows logon option under Global Settings, this will cause a conflict with McAfee Safeboot, so that only one or the other will work depending on installation order.

Affected configurations

All ThinkPads running on Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP configured with ThinkVantage Access Connections may be affected by this symptom.

Solution

Both programs use a GINA (Graphical Identification and Authentication) dll to interact with logon process. These programs would conflict since they would both want to be the first GINA called.

Upgrade the following software according to the Operating System installed:
