CLI.EXE error while restoring the Rescue and Recovery factory contents - ThinkPad R60, T60, T60p, Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, and Z61t

Symptom

While restoring the factory contents, you will see the following error:

cli.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id = 0xXXX , Thread id= 0xXXXX
Click OK to terminate the application
Click CANCEL to debug the application

Affected configurations

Any of the following systems with ATI graphics chip:

ThinkPad R60
ThinkPad T60, T60p
ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t
ThinkPad Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Solution

You can ignore the error. It will not cause any side effects during the restoration. The restoration will continue without any input.

Additional information

This error message will occur whether restoring from the hard drive partition or the recovery CDs.
