The on-board VGA controller is disabled - ThinkCentre M58, M58p
Symptom

When the user installs a PCI or PCI-E video adapter to be used as their primary video, the on-board video controller will be disabled.

Affected configurations

Any of the following systems, but not limited to the following systems: :

  • ThinkCentre M58 (all models)
  • ThinkCentre M58p (all models)

Note: The system is configured with an additional PCI or PCI-E video adapter.

Limitation

This is working as designed. The on-board VGA controller will be disabled when the BIOS Video selection is set for PCI or PEG and a PCI or PCI-E video adapter is installed.

Do not replace any hardware for this issue.
