Notes:

• If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.

[Windows Vista 32-bit]

1. Start Windows Vista 32-bit and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel and open System. Then click Device Manager.
3. Expand the Smart Card Readers category.
4. Double-click USB Smart Card Reader (Windows In-Box driver) or Integrated Smart Card Reader (Lenovo driver), then go to Driver tab and select Update Driver Software....
5. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
6. Click Browse... then point to driver location.
   
7. Confirm the "Include subfolders" checkbox is checked, then click Next.
8. Click Install to "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to install this driver software?".
9. Once the installation has finished, click Close.

[Windows XP, 2000]

1. Start Windows XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel and open System. Then click Device Manager.
3. Expand the Smart Card Readers category.
4. Double-click USB Smart Card Reader (Windows In-Box driver) or Integrated Smart Card Reader (Lenovo driver), then go to Driver tab and select Update Driver Software....
5. "Hardware Update Wizard" appears then select No, not this time, then click Next.
6. Choose Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), then click Next.
7. Choose Search for the best driver in these locations.
8. Confirm the "Include this location in the search" checkbox is checked, then click Browse... and point to driver location then click Next.
   
9. When prompted with "The software you are installing for this hardware..." click Continue Anyway.
10. Once the installation has finished, click Finish.
    
    

[Windows Vista 32-bit]

1. Start Windows Vista 32-bit/XP/2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
2. [Windows Vista 32-bit]
   Click Start, then click Control Panel open System, then click Device Manager.
   [Windows XP/2000]
   Click Start, then click Control Panel open System. Then go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager.
3. Double-click on Smart Card Readers group to expand the category.
4. Double-click on Integrated Smart Card Reader.
5. Click the Driver tab.
6. Click Uninstall.
7. When prompted, click OK to confirm the operation.
8. Uninstallation is now finished.

3. Either no more Smart Card Readers group appears. Or if double- click on Smart Card Readers group, verify that no Integrated Smart Card Reader appears any longer.

6. Check that the "Driver version" matches the one for this file.
