IBM Rescue and Recovery™ with Rapid Restore™ - Incremental Backup takes a long time to complete and consumes a large amount of disk space

Symptom
IBM Rapid Restore Ultra will backup files that have changed since the previous backup. The backup could take a long time and take a large amount of disk space if:

  1. Large applications or Service packs have been installed on the computer
  2. Under Microsoft Windows 2000 only; after Day Light Savings adjustment

Affected configuration
IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP, configured with IBM Rapid Restore Ultra

Solution
This condition can be solved by resetting all backups. This can be done by unchecking all destinations and selecting to delete the backups. This should only be done if you will not need to restore the computer to one of these backups.
