This package updates the BIOS and Embedded Controller program to fix problems, add new functions, and expand functions.

This release supports the following systems:
- Lenovo N200 (type 0687)

The supported operating systems are as follows:
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows XP Home / Pro Service Pack 2

Notes:
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

Manual Update
ATTENTION: Do not turn off or suspend the computer until the update has been completed. IF YOU DO THAT WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.

Initializing the BIOS
BIOS Initialization is suggested for some problems. To initialize the BIOS settings:
  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer.
  3. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
  4. Press the F9 key to load default configuration.
  5. Select Yes.
  6. Press the F10 key to save default configuration and exit.
  7. Select Yes. After the initialization has been completed, the system restarts automatically.

Creating the bootable CD
This section provides instructions using the RecordNow! program to make a bootable CD. Please refer to your other product manuals when using other CD writing programs.
  1. Make sure you have a system with a CD-RW, DVD/CD-RW combo or DVD multi drive installed. Prepare a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc.
  2. Download the System Program Service Utility file from the Lenovo web site.
  3. Run RecordNow! from the Windows Start/Programs menu.
  4. Click Backup Projects from the tabs. (right most tab)
  5. Click Burn Image project. Follow the process.
  6. Choose the obtained ISO file in step 2 of this process to create your CD.

Updating the BIOS
  1. Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer.
  2. Shutdown the computer.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F12 key.
  5. In the Boot Menu, Select the IDE CD: XXXXX, press Enter to boot the system with optical disc.
  6. While the "BIOS Version: 66ET34WW", "Please press "Y" key to start Flash Process!!" message is displayed on the screen, press the Y key.
    The Phoenix Phlash16 Utility will begin to update the new BIOS. If you do not want to update the BIOS, you may press N to abort.
    After the update has finished, the Phoenix Phlash16 utility will display a window with following message: "Flash memory has been successfully programmed", "PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART THE SYSTEM", "If the system does not restart", " TURN THE POWER OFF, THEN ON". Press any key to restart the system when this window appears.

Determining which version is installed
  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer.
  3. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
  4. Verify the BIOS Version.
  5. Turn off the computer.
