This Tip contains the procedure for calibration or re-calibration of the ThinkPad Tablet 2 Pen input.

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

• ThinkPad Tablet 2

Affected Systems (machine types, model types):

• Thinkpad Tablet 2 with Pen input capability

System is configured with:

• ThinkPad Tablet 2 with Microsoft Windows 8

• Microsoft Windows 8

To calibrate the ThinkPad Tablet 2 Pen input, perform the following steps:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Open Tablet PC Settings.
3. Open Calibrate as shown in Figure 1 below.
4. Select Pen Input.
5. Using the Calibration screen, position the pen so the pen tip is directly over the indicated area as shown in Figures 2, 3, and 4 below.
6. Continue pen touches until all corners are met.
7. Save calibration data as indicated.

The tablet should be laid on a flat surface prior to calibration. The pen should be held as vertical as possible during calibration.

Once the Tablet is calibrated, there will be an offset when the pen approaches any edge of the Tablet 2. 

 This is working as designed.
