Wireless / WIFI network disconnect frequently

SYMPTOM:

Wireless/ Wifi connection always auto disconnect

AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:

The above symptom may occur on the following systems:

  • IdeaPad
  • IdeaCentre
  • ThinkCentre
  • ThinkPad


Under the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7


VALID REGIONS/COUNTIRES:

Worldwide


SOLUTION:

Advise the customer to download and install the latest wifi driver for your particular model from the Lenovo support site.

 

Wireless Card Settings:

1. Go to "Network Connections" right click "Wireless Network Connection" -> select "Properties". See Fig.1.

2. Under the "Networking" Tab, click "Configure" button.

3. Under the "Advanced" tab, locate "Transmit Power" and select "Highest". See Fig.4

4. Under the "Power Management" tab, remove tick for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". And click "Ok" to save the setting and reboot the PC.
